Scala Reale

This trapezoid installation piece was conceived for the wall behind the reception desk of the hotel lobby. It was Inspired by the geometries of an ancient church floor in Milan, designed with geometric patterns alternating blue and white variegated stone. The strong perspectival depiction creates a virtual reality that tends to project the visitor’s gaze beyond the wall and the surrounding marble surfaces. The effect is accentuated by lights located in special niches carved out of the ceiling, so as to bathe in light the image, accentuating the apparent depth of the lobby.

Questa installazione trapezoidale è stata concepita per la parete posta dietro il banco della reception dell’ingresso dell’hotel. Si ispira alle geometrie del pavimento di un’antica chiesa milanese, caratterizzato da motivi geometrici che alternano pietre blu e bianche variegate. La forte rappresentazione prospettica crea una realtà virtuale che tende a proiettare lo sguardo del visitatore oltre la parete e le superfici marmoree circostanti. L’effetto è accentuato dale luci collocate in nicchie ricavate nel soffitto, in modo da illuminare l’immagine per accentuare l’apparente profondità dell’ingresso dell’hotel.
